🍁March 15, 2022 - Poem 2🍁

I think I want to do Maia's story in a similar format to Regina Bee from January 2021:

prison
well, they don't call it that
but that's what it is
prison

the protest in monument park
got
"violent"
"dangerous"

it wasn't my fault
but xxxxx will punish me...
i was supposed to organize it
and they
went
haywire

now im in
prison

they call it "the holdings"
a place to wait before the trial
that'll take place in the capetol
the "location of the crime"
because townies are so trusting
they have no law enforcement
they trust
they rely
they pretend
it's alright

the capetol court is huge
white
gleaming
perfect
indimidating

we're all a little
bit
scared
but we all know
there's nothing they can do to us
that will make it worse
than it already is

we aren't weak    
but this is step towards making us
stronger
