Hi! How's it going? I have a LOT of stuff for today. I'm just shoving things into these posts at this point~

Color! My COTM is obviously Pumpkin Orange:

This color is so vibrant and halloween-y! Accordin to wikipedia, the color "pumpkin" is based off the cucurbita. that sounds like a good rabbit hole! Cucurbitas is a genus of vines, native to the Andes and Mesoamerica. Pumpkins are a member of this genus. btw, did you know that the pumpkins that we use for jack-o-lanterns are c. pepo, whereas the ones normally used for pumpkin pie are c. moschata? Not exactly sure what the difference is, but now you know! People eat gourds like pumpkins everywhere. For example, In India, squashes are cooked with seafood. In France, marrows are served as a gratin, strained and cooked with butter, milk, and eggs, then flavored with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. In Italy, zucchini and larger squashes are served in cocuzze alla puviredda cooked with olive oil. In Japan, squashes like C. moschata pumpkins / kabocha are eaten boiled with sesame sauce, fried as tempura, or made into balls with sweet potato and japanese mountain yam. I honestly didn't know pumpkin was so popular!

I actually like it! I mean, sure, I probably wouldn't go if I saw this flyer on the street, but the pictures are good.
