April 14, 2021 - Eve of the Emperor Penguin

I am doing my first book review! It's written in a very my-style way. Not souped up to be fancy or formal. 

Eve of the Emperor Penguin is a Magic Tree House book by Mary Pope Osborne. It was good. Two kids, Jack and Annie, have a magical tree house. I suggest you read the first book in the series, Dinosaurs Before Dark. However, Eve of the Emperor Penguin is part of a sub-series called the Merlin Missions. List of those are here. You don’t have to read all of them (I didn’t) but you get some spoilers, given that Eve of the Emperor Penguin is the last book in an unnamed sub-sub-series where Jack and Annie are trying to find the secrets to happiness because Merlin is sad… There’s a lot going on, now that I think about it. Is the book worth reading? Sure. It’s good and funny and I would recommend it. My final score: 8.5 out of 10. Pretty good, wouldn’t you say?

    I used to love the magic tree house books I think I read almost all of them. I don’t think I read this sub series though! Maybe I’ll give it a try after your review :)
