April 12, 2021 - Book Recommendations

I found 5 books about penguins and I can't wait to read them!


  • Eve of the Emperor Penguin
    • A Magic Tree House Book! I never read all of them, but they are pretty good. Long story short, 2 kids go into their tree house, it spins, they get teleported to a) another time, b) another place or c) both. I haven't read any of these yet, but I've read other Magic Tree House books. This is number 40 on the fact series and number 12 in the Merlin series.
  • Penguin Highway
    • I read about this book in some newspaper or something. I think that penguins mysteriously start showing up in this kid's town and he thinks it has something to do with a lady from the dentist.
  • Mr. Popper's Penguins
    • A guy named Mr. Popper adopts a penguin. 1 turns into 2, 2 into 3, 3 into 5, before you know it, this man has a house full of penguins! I hear that it's also a movie. Adorable little penguins are involved, so I'm definitely watching.

 I remember mentioning that Lela's greatest fear is CHALK . Why? That's exactly what I'm about to explain: Lela is normally pretty tough. It takes a lot to rattle her.
