I checked my records, and I can’t believe I haven’t mentioned Vivian and Violet Vanderbilt, a.k.a the worst gardeners in the history of histories. Vivian and Violet can’t even keep a cactus alive. You don’t even have to water a cactus! I spend a lot of my time helping them, as I did today. They continue to grow plants, even though they are horrible at it. Their most recent obsession is, wait for it, irises. I was so surprised when I saw the explosion of purple with the occasional dot of yellow while I was looking for plants in distress. The irises were alive, and not only that, they were thriving. I was shocked. The Vanderbilt Twins had kept a plant alive for more than their previous record, 5 ½ hours. When I checked, they’d been alive for approximately 6 hours. The next day, they were dead. Not surprising in the least. I had to help them. I cast a simple revival spell, thinking that should do the trick. My pink, glittery magic swirled around the flowers, obscuring them from view. The magic dispersed and… nothing. My spell didn’t work. I touched the flowers, desperate to see what was wrong. The spell wasn’t strong enough. I had to do a stranger spell. I cast a stronger revival spell, heaving as the glitter cleared. Nothing. What was happening? Were my powers not working? I went next door to Anita Collins’ house and tried to water one of their lilacs. It worked. I suddenly knew exactly what was happening; Violet and Vivian had killed their irises so badly that even I couldn’t help.
